Forest Bathing At Home
Forest bathing
This is based on a Japanese practice where you take a slow, meditative walk in the woods to gain mental, emotional and physical benefits. These benefits include an improved mood, mental focus, intuition, relaxation, energy, an immunity boost and much more.
Since a forest may not always be readily accessible to you, there are some ways these benefits can be brought into your home.
1. Air purifying plants
Invite plants into and around your home. Plants are a great way to naturally bring beauty and clean, filtered air inside. They improve your overall health and wellbeing by increasing oxygen and humidity levels.
2. Essential Oils
Many plants and trees found in forests release an aroma. Not only does this provide a beautiful sensory experience but also immune boosting properties. You can bring these benefits into your home by using an essential oil diffuser. To create a forest like atmosphere, try diffusing eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree or a rain forest diffuser blend.
3. Natural textile decor
Decorate your home with natural fabrics, woods or other elements that can be found in nature. Place collected stones, sticks, leaves and treasures you find in nature and invite them into your home.
4. A still space
Create a spot in your home that is dedicated to stillness where there are no distractions. Here you can simply be and breathe.
