Natural Deodorant Guide
natural deodorant
Switching to a natural deodorant is a very individual experience. Some people find the transition easy and others have a hard time finding something that suits their needs. When switching, it is best to understand why using natural deodorants are a healthy alternative, which option will be your best fit and how to properly use them!
Why Switch?
Conventional deodorants:
Can contain harmful and unnecessary ingredients such as aluminium, parabens, antiperspirant, hormone disrupters, synthetics, fragrances, and carcinogens.
Blocks sweat and/or masks body odour, causing a build-up of toxins in the body.
Natural deodorants:
Uses only holistic ingredients, such as cornstarch, arrowroot powder, baking soda, shea butter, cocoa seed butter, avocado butter, beeswax, sunflower seed wax, essential oils, activated charcoal, aloe vera, sunflower seed oil, and coconut oil.
Kills odour causing bacteria and allows your body to breathe.

How To Switch
Switch during a cold season
You can switch to using a natural deodorant any time of year, but it is easiest when the weather is cool. This is suggested because some people go through a detox stage when first switching, where the previously blocked toxins in the body flush out, resulting in an excess of sweat and odour.
Plan to detox
Not everyone experiences a detox, but it is best to be prepared. When transitioning from an antiperspirant to a natural deodorant, the detox stage can last up to a month. If you experience smelling worse than usual when first switching, you are detoxifying.
Apply to clean, dry skin
Bath or shower to clean your underarms to remove any bacteria, dry the area completely and then apply the deodorant.
If you are going through a detox stage, be sure to keep your deodorant with you to touch up throughout the day.
Switch up your deodorant once in a while
If you have been using a natural deodorant for a long period of time and you find it has suddenly stopped working, you may need to introduce a new option once in a while.
